# From Human iPSC-Derived Neural Cells to Scalable 3D NeuroSphere Models

Human iPSC-derived neural cells provide the building blocks for reproducible, scalable 3D NeuroSphere models in neuroscience discovery. By combining defined neuronal and glial populations, researchers can introduce greater biological complexity while retaining the experimental control needed to investigate disease mechanisms and evaluate potential therapeutics.

Join Tina Löffler, PhD, and Scott Schachtele, PhD, for "From Human iPSC-Derived Neural Cells to Scalable 3D NeuroSphere Models" on 3 December 2026 at 15:00 CET | 9:00am ET, followed by a live Q&A session.

This session draws on Scantox Neuro’s research developing and characterizing forebrain and midbrain dopaminergic iCell® NeuroSpheres composed of human iPSC-derived iCell® neurons and glia from FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics (FCDI). Through examples in neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation, including the incorporation of iPSC-derived microglia, attendees will gain practical insight into how cellular composition, model design, and functional readouts can be tailored to specific research questions and support earlier pharmacology decisions.

## Key Learning Objectives

- Understand how characterized, ready-to-use human iPSC-derived iCell neural cells from FCDI support reproducible neuroscience model development.
- Evaluate how defined neuronal and glial cell types can be combined into modular, scalable 3D iCell NeuroSphere systems tailored to specific research questions.
- Interpret initial characterization and application data from forebrain and midbrain dopaminergic NeuroSpheres across neurodegenerative disease- and neuroinflammation-relevant applications.
- Assess how disease-relevant cell inputs and additional cell types, including microglia, can extend model modularity, biological complexity, and disease relevance.
- Understand how modular 3D models fit within broader translational neuroscience workflows and support earlier pharmacology decisions.

## Who Should Attend

- **CNS discovery and translational scientists:** developing therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases.
- **In vitro model-development teams:** working with human iPSC-derived neural cells, spheroids, organoids, or related advanced cellular systems.
- **Discovery pharmacologists and screening scientists:** seeking scalable, human-relevant systems for target validation and compound evaluation.
- **CNS program leaders:** selecting models and generating translational evidence for Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and related programs.
- **External innovation, outsourcing, and alliance-management professionals:** evaluating cell suppliers, platform technologies, or specialist CRO partners.
